View Full Version : Very wierd Kazaa slowdown problem
UhHuh
May 11th, 2004, 08:59 AM
Ok, I'm really getting frustrated with this problem. I'm using Kazaa Lite Resurrection 2.4.8.
Anyway here's what happens. Any download (even if it has a 100 users+) will start at a normal DL speed (Anywhere from 4Kb/s to 50 Kb/S), but immediatly the download will slow. Within 30 seconds every download has slowed to below 1 Kb/s. I've tried this with many files and it happens to every one. In fact, its a perpetual slowdown - it'll slow down to 0.05 Kb/s.
This is obviously incredibly frustrating as its impossible to download anything with hitting pause-resume all night long.
Anyway, here's what I've tried so far:
- Clean install of Kazaa Lite.
- Other p2p programs - even those not on Fastrack have the same exact problem
- trying and checking all my ports - even with my firewall down, the problem still occurs
My internet connection is usally a blazing fast broadband connection through the school. But no one else has this problem.
Has anyone had these symptom's before gotten it to work. I've only seen the advice to clean install and I've done that - cleaning my reg, and deleting all extraneous kazaa files.
Help!?

as far as klite goes, anybody that tells you to reinstall is a noob so don't even bother with them.
as far as your klr goes, klr is very buggy so i'm not sure if this is you or klr.
try the klt k++ from my sig and see what you get, make sure you uninstall any kazaa verions first

The problem first started when I was using Klite K++. I've tried switching back to Klite K++ after resurrection, and the same problem still occurs.
Very frustrating.

no boss i'm talking about kazaa lite tools k++ (klt k++) not klite. klt k++ is more upto date with supernodes and etc. incase your problem is the supernodes.
please uninstall any version of kazaa you have, then go to program folder and delete any kazaa folder you see. then find and delete you db folder
to see it you need to do this first:
open any folder then go to tools>folder options>view> here check the box for ?show hidden files?then uncheck the box that
says ?hide protected operating system files (recommended)
then look for your db folder and deleted:
The database files can be found in one of the following locations, depending on your version of Kazaa Lite:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kazaa Lite\db
C:\Documents and Settings\%your username%\Application Data\Kazaa Lite\db
C:\windows\Application Data\Kazaa Lite\db
C:\program files\kazaa lite\db\
after doing all that install klt k++ with all the tools(you'll need them later)

Your school is blocking it. That's the traditional tell-tale symptom.
Can your buddies down the hall using the same software get it to work? Or is it just you?

KLITETOOLS, I'll presume that you are at least partially responsible for the moderately wasteful, resource-heavy page which features nothing other than screen captures of an interface from some application. The page is linked to your signature and the application featured appears to be titled "Kazaa Lite Tools". Via this page a user may optionally backtrack to location where there is a further unleashing of gigantic unwieldy fonts and an opportunity to download the mysterious, undescribed application. Apparently, as a user, I must first pay a visit to the vibrant forums and bumble about aimlessly like a blind lame ignorant jackass with it's own tail stuck in it's eyes in hopes of stumbling upon Eldorado, the golden city of lost application details. Why is is that someone can devote significant portions of time to slapping snazzy graphics about, snapping pretty screen images of interfaces, and pushing usage on the needy as advice, but no one can seem to invest a tiny fraction of time in writing a simple explanation?
Supposedly, commercial use of the software termed, Kazaa Lite and tools, is "prohabited". What kind of loophole is generated when the interpreter concocts a definition for the word "prohabited"?

wtf are you on and wtf are you talking about??
there is no paying for shit or registering or anything. its free, no ads or spyware, no registeration is needed. the page you are refering to is the preview page and at the bottom of it it has a link to the download page and not the forum. which clearly shows you did not hit the link to see where it goes and are taking out of your ass.
as far as resource use, there are only pics of klt k++ on that page to see what it looks like. If you find that page resouse heavy you might want to stop being a cheap ass and get yourself a little bit more then 5MB of ram (i don't see how else that simple plain page can be resource heavy)
as far as his problem goes, as i said klr is bugy there is no short explaination for him. we need to trouble shoot first and first thing is to use a less bugy progy.
because the problem could be the klr itself, klr was not put together properly nor does it have all the reg keys it needs, thus the buggs like quicklinks, multiple users and etc.

You really do have a nasty case of verbal diarrhea. Large words are nice, and so is clever phrasing, but nothing beats being concise and to the point.

Here, I may agree in the same manner that I compassionately humor my two year old son when he attempts to phrase conspicuous events.

Sure. Sometimes. Am I guilty of not thoroughly examining the content on which I commented? I don't think so.
I apologize, KLITETOOLS. I should probably obtain and maintain a minimum state of lucidity prior to engaging in written expression. I will make an effort to rephrase the previous post so that the concepts are expressed simply and concisely.
A.Some effort was put into the promotion of the application "Kazaa Lite Tools K++".
B.On the site, other applications have obvious descriptions, but the application "Kazaa Lite Tools K++", which is named similarily to the site, had no easily accessible description.
C.The desired effects of A may be partially consumed by the negative effects of B. This appears foolish.
D.Concerning the omitted description of "Kazaa Lite Tools K++", I momentarily sought this missing information.
E.As clearly displayed on the "Kazaa Lite Tools K++" preview page, the word "prohibited" is misspelled as "prohabited".
Now, Psilaxs, in a spirit of goodwill and hospitality, I will make an attempt to emphasize bright positive aspects and exclude negative derogatory aspects. The individual in the avatar you have chosen appears to have a very nice skull. In other words, if examining such an item in a greater collection of similar items on display, I would select the item and exclaim to the collector "this one is nice". In of itself, as a standalone item, the combination of contrasting edge geometry and unique proportions might distinguish it from others aesthetically. When you are done squandering it on your own purposes, the offer is an even trade for the amount of $325.00. Consider yourself blessed.

hmm when the speed has fallen for ur downloads.......are u still able to open websites....
when kazaa transfers fall in speed
try to ping google.com (start>run>ping google.com)
if ur internet is becoming inactive after sometime, then its ur firewall, i faced similar problems and u have to allow icmp pings for server to see if nodes are alive......
but if ur able to browse normally even after ur download speeds have fallen, then try some other p2p application , may be dc++ or shareaza and see if ur facing similar problems with them
i am currently using k++ 2.4.3 (last official release by orignal k++ developers - random nut) you can try this version, if the first 2 things dont workout for u

Bull-shitting is easy to engage in smokingbevel. I've done it many times.
However, it serves no purpose other than to start flame wars.
Where for art thou Jorge? We have a "lame" post.
