For users running NAV 2003 pro
ccapp.exe appears in system startup and appears to be a legit part of NAV Link (http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/docid/2002101608291506?Open&src=hot&docid=2003010811511306&nsf=nav.nsf&view=docid/2003010811511306?opendocument&src=hot&prod=norton%20antivirus&ver=2003%20for%20windows%202000/me/98/xp&stg=2&base=http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/nav&dtype=&prod=Norton%20AntiVirus&ver=2003%20for%20Windows%202000/Me/98/XP&osv=&osv_lvl=)
but spybot on examining the startup says that its a trojan and refers to symantec page.........which gives the following information Spybot Refers This (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/trojan.obsorb.html/)
i have this ccapp.exe in startup, and if i remove it, then norton does not auto-start on boot, ccapp.exe also wants to gain access to internet, and for now i have blocked it (ZAP)........
so on1 side symatec says its an integral part of NAV 2003 Read Here (http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/docid/2003010811511306?OpenDocument&src=hot&prod=Norton%20AntiVirus&ver=2003%20for%20Windows%202000/Me/98/XP&stg=2&base=http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/nav/&next=nav_2003_search_solve.html&sone=nav_2003_tasks.html&tpre=)
And on the other it says the ccapp.exe startup registry is made by a virus Read Here (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/trojan.obsorb.html/)
i am kinda confused and i want to know should i allow it to access the internet or not?
