Go Supernova - Improving BitTorrent
SLYCK:
During my usual search for P2P news, I headed over to P2PForums.com to see what was stirring. The headlines touted an interesting piece of software called "GoSupernova." The program's homepage claimed that it would alleviate much of the procrastinating nature of SuperNova.org, the excellent torrent link site.
As many know, Supernova.org is the crown jewel of the BitTorrent network. Without its existence, many doubt whether this community would even be able to survive. Even more interesting, despite its enormous popularity, it has managed to evade the copyright industry. While it has remained very popular, this has come as a mixed blessing.
Quite often, especially during prime time, the site will often grind to a snails pace. In addition, the search feature will often be frustrating to use. How does one overcome such problems? This is where GoSupernova comes into play.
The software almost instantly accesses the Supernova torrent database, and organizes the available torrents according to media type (movies, music, games, etc.) Much like a P2P application, the software is easy and quite simple to use. After testing the software along with BitComet, it was clear that this is a great addition to the BitTorrent community.
