OK ... Timberwolves have been added. My vote.. if the Kings get past the Timberwolves then Kings all the way. The Spurs and Pacers look tough too. Whoever wins it's going to be a great series.

The Kings will eat them up.

I was rooting for the Bucks, but oh well, and then Dallas, oh well, now the Kings.

Part of me wants to see Payton and Malone get a rings, but a lot of me doesn't want to see Bryant and Shaq with another ring... f'ing Lakers, why are they trying to be the Yankees of Hoops?

Now it is the Lakers are the first players to advance to the Western Conference Finals.
It's either going to be the Timberwolves or the Kings will be against the Lakers.

The T-wolves and the Kings keep going back and forth... one wins, then the other... 3-3 now I believe.

Ok for the Western Conference it's the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Timberwolves or Kings
also for the Eastern Conference it's the Indiana Pacers vs. Nets or Pistons

Hmmm who will be the NBA Finals HMmmmmmm

I just can't bring myself to root for Minn. It's gotta be the Kings - they had the best record for most of the season - but I'm not sure who can take out the Lakers. This will be the game to watch tonight!!!!

The thing with Minnesotan teams is this: they can get far, but once they get to a certain point, they fuck it all up.

This will be the game to watch tonight!!!!

That's an understatement.

The Los Angeles Lakers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves playin' Friday for the Western Conference Finals.

The Indiana Pacers vs. the Pistons or Nets for the Eastern Conference

Uhhh The game did not go overtime just that it ended with the wolves won against the Kings 83-80.
I saw the game it was pretty good.At the last minute the Kings scored a 3 point shot.
Also, Timberwolves' Forward Kevin Garnett Birthday was on May 19, Wed. and he turned 28.

I want the T- wolves to win it all cause i can't stand the lakers...
(It goes way back to traumatic childhood hatred)

Also I don't see the Eastern confrence winning it this year
And I can't think of the Pistons without imagining the frightful Bill Lambeer swinging his elbows in a violent fit...

Webber, oh Webber, you needed that 3 at the end!!! Good game, good series, I wish they were all this competitive.

Now officially every team I rooted for has lost. Bucks, Mavs, Kings, now who do I root for? I can't root for the Timberwolves - my Wisconsin/Illinois blood won't let me. I can't root for the Lakers even though I want Malone and Payton to get a ring, the Nets are out because of Jason Kidd's stupid-ass pre-free-throw-shot bullshit that I hate, (and plus, they're Jersey... ewww) so that leave the Pistons (blech) and the Pacers.

Ok Pacers it is. Let's see it.

Ooohhh what's wrong with Minnesota? I guess it's the same as my Minnesota blood not allowing me to root for the Packers. :upside

Exactly - that's the main reason for the dissent - That Packers - Vikings rivalry is just too hot for me to associate with the Wolves. Even cross sports. The Wolves always seem to leech players off of the Bucks as well - there was a few a couple years back and then just this year with Cassel fitting in quite nicely with Garnett. I'll admit - Garnett was very Jordan-esque last night. That dude can hoop.

I was proud of the Twins though for pulling through in the year they were supposed to be axed - the team stuck to Selig by their nice turnaround, but it's still Cubbies, Brewers, and White Sox all the way for me...

Potato
May 20th, 2004, 10:49 AM
I think the Twins have more issues than the game. Throwing a fit over a stadium is lame, I'm sorry if we don't want to pay higher taxes for a new stadium. The whole Victory Sports thing was lame too. If you ever want a way to drive away fans, take advice from the Twins.

Ahhhhh it's good to see the great midwest talk I missed so well...
Being of WI/IL blood myself and having spent way too much time in MN these are the things I miss
The die hard loyalty to teams we are the first to admit suck
Thank you

Go Bears!

lol you crack me up. I don't think there are many regular zp'ers from the midwest... and even less from Minnesota (two not including me that I know of). Our crappy sports teams keep us grounded. The conversations are like, "Did ya see the Twins?" "yaaaaaaa ya betcha I did"

Okay so I'm the only one that'll find that hilarious.

/me goes back into her corner.

Holyhell game 3 for the twolves and the lakers drove me nuts. In like, 30 seconds the wolves scored 8 points but it wasn't enough... And you know what, the last .. many points were scored by that guy with the weird last name, szczersomething... that drove me nuts too. *sigh*

I want the T-Wolves to win...

Pistons Beat Lakers for NBA CHAMPIONSHIP 100-87

Pistons Take NBA Championship Title
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Motown is Titletown. The decendants of the Bad Boys made sure of it with a stunning upset that was really no contest at all.

Without a superstar among them and without being given much of a chance, the Detroit Pistons humiliated the Los Angeles Lakers 100-87 Tuesday night in Game 5 of the NBA finals for their first title in 14 years.

The Pistons were at their very best in the clincher, defeating the Lakers in every facet of the game. It was both methodical and shocking the way they pulled ahead and pulled away for one of the biggest surprises in NBA finals history.

The Pistons, led by Wallace, were outstanding... The Lakers looked tired and disorganized - lets face it, they sucked!
