Windows Update Problem

Ok everytime I go to the windows update site,

it will Download the updates but when it goes to install it I get the error saying it did not pass the windows logo thing and won't let me install

and for those who don't know I am running Windows XP Home ed

It is a 'proper' Windows XP Home?

This used to happen to me. You have to download only a few updates at a time.
