I've been looking to upgrade my monitor (which is a standard dell 17") But as of now I'm torn between two models. I'm wondering which one would run great alongside the 9800XT. Here are my choices:

EC FE991SB-BK 19" .25-.27 AG Flat Black CRT Monitor

Viewsonic E90FB 1600x1200 UXGA .25mm 19" Black Perfect Flat CRT Monitor
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=415279&sku=V18-5004%20B

Which one would YOU get? and WHY?

system specs
AMD +2500
1gig ram
9800XT

Why not flat panel? CRT seem to take up so much room.

You are throwing your money away at Tiger Direct. Goto New egg. The same monitor costs $199.00. Even after shipping its under $240. Tiger Direct is closer to $270.

Hmmm...flat panel is just too pricey! 500 bucks for a 19 inch monitor? And Im not all that pleased with the picuture quality of them compared to CRT...

CRT's are much better for gaming, better picture quality, and the colors don't bleed. LCD's still have a long way to go before they'll catch up with CRT.

The viewsonic has a better dot pitch, plus loads of other nice features.

Like everybody else has said, both are good, but Viewsonic is the best in this case.

I've got the same model, and I freakin' love the thing. . . it's a beautiful monitor with an exceptional picture. I'll always choose a ViewSonic when it comes to CRT's.

Viewsonic is great. Samsung and NEC are on the bleeding edge as well, and make great monitors.

Consider some of the newer LCDs. You can pick up a 17" with great contrast ratio, great color, and an awesome refresh rate for a decent price these days. Just another option.
