Try the new album from Boris Blenn (also known as Electric Universe) "Jupiter 8000 - Twisted Bliss". I like old goa a lot and liked this album too. :)

Trance all the way for me... I love lots of different kinds of music but this is my favorite genre of techno. Check out the Global Underground series of DJs. They're all double-disc CD set of 70 min+ dj sets of the top trance DJs and others. John Digweed, Nick Warren, Danny Tenaglia - dope.
DnB/Jungle is my next fav, Grooverider, Diesel Boy... and others too.
Everybody needs to peep Benny Bennassi as well!
Hery nice post tamarisk, gotta check some of that stuff out... You know we're kinda slow on picking up newer stuff here in the states;)

I like ambient/dark ambient/odd music. You know - things like Nurse with Wound, Mandible Chatter, Zoviet-France etc.
When people are saying "electronic music" they often mean rave/acid/whatever was popular in the late 80's/early 90's. Actually (for me, at least) electronic music is starting from the beginning of the 20th century (think Debussy/Satie). While composers, of course, had no synthesizers, they actually developed a way to create strange effects through tape loops and different techniques and if we think that ambient is a soundtrack to imaginary movie, then afromentioned Debussy is one the fathers of this genre.

Well my country (maybe because mediterranean island), electronic music, is very popular. So we get a lot of world deejays like tiesto etc.
personally i like alternative rock, but i don't mind at all going to clubs that play urban or electronic music.
As regards techno, my friend who likes rock finds techno to be his preferred electronic music, cause he says it resembles rock in some way (don't tell me how).
A strange thing i find is that Urban (Hip-Hop, R&B etc) has electronic beats.

And where he goes and mixes, Sasha is never far behind with a similar, and about equally as good a style. I assume you have all their GU sets? I thought Hong Kong was the best. His brand new one Stark Raving Mad is another 10 out 10 imo.

I wish I did CJ. An electronica friend of mine in Phoenix who records -- DreamMusic (nice stuff, by the way--Almost got him a record deal off of that. ) -- put together a compliation for me, a couple years ago and turned me on. I tend to like melodic stuff. But seriously, and Im not spamming, Method and Jip are lightyears ahead of anyone I know--they are on top of everything before it even comes out. So I just follow their lead.
And thanx for the tips, Tamarisk. Love to hear your stuff sometime, MacGyver..

edit: Yeah, in other words, the dancier stuff. Ah well, whatever ya like is all good. PM me if ya wanna know what I got, or something=-, I've turned a friend onto trance too, well he just started dl it, and I asked him why, because he's into rock[linkon park , stuff like that] He told me he's tired of the constant hiphop, rock cycle, when will the indistry learn,

g-smooth2k mentions a lot of the ones I like...
but to add to that list, here are quite a few of my favorites:
*House*: St. Germain, Blue Six, Chicane, Soulstice, Faithless, Nuspirit Helsinki, Kaskade
*General Electronic*: Hybrid(Does a lot of stuff with symphonic sounds, highly recomended if you can find it), Timewriter
*Jazzy House Music*: Dzihan & Kamien, Azymuth, Kyoto Jazz Massive
*DrumNBass*: LTJ Bukem, Big Bud, Blu Mar Ten, Adam F
Also check out Nude Dimentions/Naked Music, Lounge Deluxe, Berlin Lounge, Om Lounge, Buddha Bar, Cafe Del Mar, Deep Dish, Ministry Of Sound, series/artists for some tasty, varying electronic music.
Hope you like some of it, although some of this stuff is REALLY hard to find..

all the above that you mentioned are included in the cds I said above. Why don't you try and read the posts that are above and then search in google for techno? When I have no idea about a subject, I never bother answering. Searching in google under "best trance" is worthless. Stop pretending....

If you like trance like I do, I suggest trying to get your hands on any of the Bonkers albums. Excellent mixes. Nothing but happy hardcore and Trancecore on em.
Also look for Sharkey's albums.
And then I notice the date on the post, and see CJ is up to her old tricks again.
Whatever, listen to the albums, they are great. :gj

Go to www.btsites.tk and look there. down at the bottom is a listing of new sites. You can also search at www.isohunt.com for whatever you want to search for (plug in "trance," etc.) but you will need to be more specific- I just searched for trance and it gave over 1,000 torrents.

go bonkers!
I like the trancy side of hardcore, anything harder and it's just noise to me...
other good hardcore series is hardcore heaven, Hardcore_Euphoria, anying slamin presents and I"m sure there's more I'm forgeting. What that is is commonly refered to as UK hardcore, because of I'm asuming most is made in the UK, and it's more trancy then the netherlands hardcore/hardstyle. A lot of this stuff is shared in teh happy hardccore room on soulseek http://www.slsknet.org so if your lookign to get your hadns on some, check it. Also soulseek is generally a great place to find tuns of new and old techno trance house brakes etc. Although it looks like my tastes are more mainstream[I listen to tuns of hands up!, some trance, chumi dj/d10/edu vs rai style of music, anyone know what to call that?and of course the hardcore stuff.

Thinking of techo / trance makes me think of a club i used to go to about 5 years ago called the Monestry in Torquay.
It opened at midnight and went straight through to 8am in the morning. It was in an old church and they *didn't sell alcohol*.
Because there was no alcohol served, you didn't have to be 18 to get in.
One of the most friendly places I've ever been to, but it was eventually closed down due to all the 14 and 15 year old coming home off they're head in the morning.
If they found weed or booze on you, they'd give you a ticket and you could collect it at the end!
Good times indeed, rarely listen to it anymore though. Prefer breakbeat over techno any day of the week.
