I wish I had a dollar for everytime someone asked this question. The fact is it's a matter of preference! You will find people that really like WinMX and then there's those that must have BT or Kazaa. Furthermore, when you say the best, what do you mean...the best for software, the best for music, the best for speedy d/l, the best for rare files? Many people don't like Kazaa because of the fakes and people don't like WinMX because of the long waits in queue. You see, it's really a matter of preference or opinion.

Welcome to ZP!

You are correct, you did say music & movies!:upside

It's still a matter of opinion though, as to which is the best client. If you browse the threads here you will find many opinions, as to what is the best client. If KCeasy works well for you, then that is the best client, and if WinMX gets that rare file you've always wanted, then it's the best. I recommend reading through the threads and trying as many as you dare. I currently have about 5 p2p apps installed at this time.

Peerguardian is sortof a firewall "lite", it blocks the ip addresses of known legal abusers of peer-to-peer like the riaa, mpaa, and private companies trying to make a living by exploiting the current legal limbo to claim they are "policing" the network. What it doesn't do is protect you from any new offenders until such time as they are discovered, so it is not by any means a failsafe solution for your filesharing privacy.

Opinions are divided by analogy basically, one side says a condom with holes in it is worse than useless, the other says that a roof with holes in it is better in a rainstorm than no roof at all.

You didn't make that one up yourself did you aglo? That was quite good. I'd have to say I'm of the holed condom persuasion. How about yourself?

As for best P2P networks there's plenty of zealots here that will tell DC is a heavenly place. But I prefer eMule, 24/7 all day everyday.

For music Soulseek is good, but I prefer to go to the source - IRC - for the new shit.

Kazaalite is still the best...to-day i was on there was almost 4 million users...of course there are still corrupt files...but if everyone would start to use this program mp3 shield..it would cut back on downloading corrupt files...i have also been trying SoulSeek....i find for tunes it has a lot to offer :cross

It defenently depends on the user, but also the users internet line...sometimes different programs will react differnetly depending on the connection, DSL, ADSL, Cable, Satellite.....

I don't think you can get everything you might need or want from just 1 p2p

Bit Torrent - Tops for new TV shows, also good for just about anything new and in demand Not so good for music

Emule- Great all around but slow. For older TV Shows, DVD rips ,and just about anything else its tops

Soul Seek- The king for finding music.

Use more than one program. Maybe you already do. Bittorrent is OK if you dont mind a wait.
