I've been using eMule for a while without any problems, I use a cable modem with a 2Wire HomePortal router for my wireless connection. But after awhile (while eMule is still running) I notice my broadband link light goes red and I lose my connection, as does another computer on my network. Has my ISP caught on to what I am doing and will just turn my connection off everytime I try to use eMule? There's no way I can be exceeding bandwidth limits because I always run another program alongside eMule which limits that. I have it all configured and do have a high ID for the ed2k network. Will trying to connect through different ports work? I notice some servers say some ISP's have put blocks on the common 4662 port or something along those lines. I just want to know, why am I losing my broadband connection when I try to use eMule?

Is it possible it has something to do with the latest version of eMule? (which I am running) because I remember runnning previous versions without any problems.

Not too sure about that either, cause I've always had my settings at optimal even maxed out at times and it ran flawlessly, unless of course that would now conflict with changes in the new version, I guess I'll never know.

This really sucks cause eMule is (or was) my favorite program. True, slower speeds but I think the network is reliable because not once have I ever obtained a fake file.

I guess it may be time to turn towards some alternative programs.
