I know about music files, but got into the whole winmx to check out downloading movies--couple quick questions though (and yes, they are prob stupid--but bear with me please)...most movies I am looking for are like 500,000,000 to 800,000,000 bites each. am I realistically going to be able to get more than a couple on my hard drive (80gb-59gb free) without clogging it, and if not how much more room do I need (i.e. what size card should I buy for an upgrade)? how can I transfer these files onto a vcd? is it easy, are there free conversion programs out there? I have roxio pro and it says that it can do it-but not really sure how. I want to be able to share more--so is there a way to upload my dvd's into shared folder for winmx? also, are there other confirmed movie sites, besides filebreech and sharepoint?

a movie is around 500-800 MB (0.5 - 0.8 GB) so you have enough room.

Bytes?
1000000 bytes (1024000 for the sticklers) = 1 mb
1000 mb = 1 gb
So a 500000000 bite file = 500 mb
That's a half a gig. You can fit quite a few.

Yeah you got enough room but you're going to need a decoder to play them. Most likely divx. Just pay attention to the free space on your drive in Windows explorer and if you get to low windows will let you know.
www.divx.com (http://www.divx.com/)
or
Koepi's XviD decoder (use google)
or
ffdshow

You wanna share DVDs, first you gotta compress em

I hear nero can make vcds but I've never tried before because my DVD player doesn't support them. I believe you have to pay for the plugin.

Dvdrhelp has more guides you can look into
