Canada's Liberal leader Paul Martin achieved the distinction when he told celebrities and wannabes at the awards, in Edmonton, Alberta, that the music industry is a part of Canada's sovereignty, to ringing applause from Big Music PR hacks who are desperately trying to find ways to counter the defeat suffered by its CRIA. Amoung the notable comments made by Martin at the Juno Awards were:

Juno's are our pathetic music awards that nobody watches. I am particularly unfortunate since my home city is hosting it tonight.
It's mainly going to be all a-hub about the judge's music ruling. And you can bet I'm not voting for Paul Martin in our election this year.

Juno is the Canadian equivilant of the US's Grammy.

I never liked Paul from the getgo, even before he became PM and this just makes me not like him more. And in actual fact Canada is the 6th biggest music industry in the world.

You're right but Canada being 6th place we are a large source of income for the American Music companies ( I read somewhere Canada is one of the largest markets in north america for them) for the which are no doubt spending large amounts of money on lobbying our politicans, if Paul Martin's comment are not proof of that........

How would you know that? Have you ever seen the Junos? if yes then you would know that they never talk about downloading music. The Juno show is to give the 10 last awards and to showcase some great Canadian talent, and sometimes to take a stab at people like Janet.
