Hello all and good day, I bought a Toshiba SDR1112 DVD Burner / 4x2x12x DVD-RW / 16x10x40x CD-RW, for some reason it copies and burns DVD's just fine....but when I try to burn music (mp3's) to a cd-r it won't let me, it says there are no supported drives....Can anyone help please?

Are you using Nero Express or Nero StartSmart? If so with a DVD-RW drive you have to specify if you are using it to burn a CD or a DVD. With Nero Express you'll find the drive listed twice in the drop down menu, once as a CD-RW, once as a DVD-RW. In the StartSmart GUI you have to click the tab at the top right to specify which type of media you are using.

Still don't know what the problem is, cd's burn just fine if I use MusicMatch but still get the same thing with Nero......oh well.

try to update the burning program that is giving you the errors. Looks like that its having trouble detecting your drive which hopefully the current verison will detect it.

So which version of Nero are you using?
Did you just install it and find problems or has it been working previously and now developed a problem?
Is Nero working for other types of burn projects?
Do you have any other burners on your PC?
NeroExpress 6/Nero Burning ROM should convert mp3 to wave on the fly and without any additional plug in. Or are you using a different version?
You could try running the Nero Info tool to get any information you need re your system configuration, the status of your drives, any other burning software, your aspi layer...in fact everything concerning your optical drives and burning software.
Are you sure you haven't done something totally screwy like load your disc into the wrong drive or select the image burner as your drive instead of a hardware drive? I do stuff like that too often to rule it out.
Hope you get it fixed but if not come back with some hard info and someone will be able to help fix it.
