Hi All
Does anyone know the rough figure for its CPU/memory usage? After updating my server to 192MB RAM on my Win98SE I have found that I can't run my eMule overnight b/c it will crash the computer sooner or later - I need to pull back a previous 'image'.
I know Kazaa Lite takes up a lot but I found that this doesn't take up as much as eMule. Is this true with other p2pers out there?
Any help is greatfully appreciated.
Thanks.

Ok... 2 things..
Windows 98 SE? WHY!
That'l crash over night anyway, new or old version! Get off that thing! If your pcs oldish, use 2000, if its new, whack XP/2003 on it!
Secondly, please upgrade your emule! its an older version, they found a security bug in it and upgraded it morealess straight after releasing 0.42c, 0.42d is the latest.
Finally, in answer to your question!.. emule is currently using 60mb of ram, which I dont mind, since I got 1gb worth, 60mb is nothing.

Yes I have heard it degrades over time. I used to be able to run my comp 24/7 for the majority of the week before having to restart, even then it wouldn't always crash but take a long time to do simple things.

I have it ready just going to install it.

I have a LAN which my brother also uses (who is only 16). Reason why we still have 98SE is b/c of the compatibility with the modem and we recently paid out money for the DSL modem, since we went halves on it.
I have a laptop that has XP and once the server is fixed, get ICS back running and then I could use Kazaa Lite, eMule etc from my laptop.
I'll think I'll wait for 2003 to see how other people find it.
Thanks again.
