I downloaded shareaza, set up with the wizard. searched and found
2 that had the file but it did not download. is it automatic? is there
something else i need to do to start d/l? kazza lite starts well.

yep its automatic...just need to double click on the file...prolly ur in que....try fiddling around, like search for a more popular file n then see what happens
its a nice program i like it....

Right you may be "in queue", meaning that the maximum number of people are already downloading from there so you have to wait in line, the waiting is automatic so just leave it there and search for something else while you wait.
It's a common shareaza experience to find and request say 10 things, get one or two of them now, leave the thing running zzzzzzz and find you have 8 or 9 of your 10 things tomorrow morning.
On the other hand, some things just never download, some people aren't really sharing or don't want to share with shareaza users or like any of a dozens reasons. The point is some files never come.
If you click on the little pulldown dealie that appears by the filename when its active you can see what claims are being made to shareaza about the file, like where you are in line or if its receiveing errors or being requeued or if one source is slowing things down.
