Find out how to back up your Mac with Apple's Backup.

Backing up is one of the most important things you can do for your computer, yet far too few of you do it. You may have some common excuses for this lapse: You don't know which files to back up; you don't know where to store your backup; it takes too long to perform a backup; and you don't know which utility to use. But if you're a .Mac member, I'm afraid you've just run out of excuses. On today's episode of "Call for Help" I'll show you how to make the most of Apple's Backup (http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/backup.html).

Backup is an easy-to-use application that lets you back up nearly all the files on your Mac to your iDisk, a writeable CD or DVD, or another volume. It doesn't offer the kind of high-end backup features you'd find in a program such as Dantz's Retrospect (http://www.dantz.com/) -- backup of network volumes or support for tape drives, for example -- but it's great for an essentially free application.

Let's take a look at those excuses and how Backup might address them.
