wELL I OPEN UP shareaza like any other day and i found an update to 1.6.as i was downloading it through the magnet link type d/l i found out that a source was microsoft-iis/4.0 . now i dont know if thats a shareaza clone or a microsoft agent trackin my d/l but it was shareing 1.6 like it was a shareaza client.any one go tinfo on this?

It's safe, thats where I got mine from, I noticed that also,
only problem is it took about 60 min. to download, couldn't get it from the website, so I had to wait for it. It has been installed and all is fine.

The Microsoft/IIS that you saw is the User-Agent string of the Shareaza website. The magnet link it uses, uses shareaza.com as a source since it knows that it is "trusted". No worries, the shareaza.com source makes it easier to download when the installer hasn't been propogated through the network yet.

just download it from shareaza, if its slow, then let it download through gnutella, lots of people should be sharing it now.
i am sharing it, as i am using shareaza right now.

note, after updating to latest version of shareaza, it took me awhile to connect to gnutella, not a problem, i copy my host cache from gnucleus, and was able to connect after awhile.
anyways shareaza is kick a.s.s.

Does Shareaza have built-in Host blacklisting like Gnucleus?

It has security filtering which blocks known rogue IPs. as the default setting. You can also download filter add-ins to stop the bad guys getting a look at your content.
