Hey guys, I have a vague recollection of reading somewhere about a tool that would descramble mp3s that the RIAA had scrambled up. Does this sound familiar to anyone and if so can you remember what it was? Better still can you tell me where to get it?
Any thoughts, comments, ideas or pointers would be most appreciated.
Thanks

it does...I just don't know where...the last time I tried to download the file, development had stopped and I got a 404...it's a proggie made specifically for the scrambled files offa KaZaA, but I know now that there is a proggie that scans ur HDD and REMOVES the damaged files...so...I dunno where to find it...I guess you could google it

rebirth, I found the program that scans and deletes scrambled mp3s. I think it even had a protection facility that cancelled any downloads that looked to be scrambled, hence saving you the time and effort.
I'm pretty sure about my original assertion though. It crossed my mind because when I read about it I was at home where I have a broadband connection. If ever I got a scrambled file, I just though "Meh, I'll download another".
But, I'm at Uni at the moment and it takes on average 2 weeks to successfully download an mp3 file (please don't ask about the connection, it's SO bad). Hence any scrambled files are more a waste than ever before.
That's when the thought of this program came back to me. It would make things so much easier just to download whatever and then de-scramble it.

What this guy claim is that is program does much more : turn a bogus file into a clean mp3. I say that is impossible.
