The SHADOW's Experimental BitTorrent Client has changed names.
Renamed to BitTornado, the client adds these features:
Taken from the forum post:
"Welcome to the "rebranding" of my client. T-0.0.1 looks similar to S-5.8.11, but is actually pre-S6 and has some very important changes to the engine. You'll soon see a single downloader that handles multiple torrents over a single server port.
Other changes include: A new upload bandwidth limiter that is much smoother and less damaging to your connection, and support for the new features included in the official version 3.4.1a."

Okay i found a torrent to download, but it says im not sharing anything, which im not.. Does it need to be sharing to get to download?? This client so far sucks.. Bittorrent pages are slow, full of banners, and awful when they redirect you to broken links.

That is a bad start Shawners. I don't know about the sharing warning. You only share the file that you are currently downloading (and for a bit more when it has finished). You may be getting that warning if your upload is set to 0. You can not share, but you downloads will be really slow. No more than 5k and usually less than 1. Set your upload to a minimum of 6.
Admittedly Suprnova was nicer in the banner free days, but bandwidth has to be paid for. You may want to try suprnova light:

but I don't like the set up so much.

I believe that Bittorrent is made so that the dl speed is tied to the ul speed at a certain ratio, so your lame speed might be due to that Shawners. It is also possible that there are not too many people that are sharing the file at this time (and they could also be slow). I would guess that your problem is due to a combination of those factors.
Second, this post is a little misleading, since it is not in fact a new BT client. It is, in fact, a renaming of an already poorly named client.

Well how long are you waiting Shawners? This is why BT is good for larger files, as your download speed will get faster and faster.
Mels_Smileys45: Yes you can set it to 0, but then you wont download much. Perhaps 1-2k. If a leecher has patience with that, they deserve to leech!
It isn't a set ratio though. When you upload to someone, they then allow you to download from them. It doesn't matter how little you upload, you can download from them. However, the slower you upload, the less people you will upload to, the fewer sources that you can download from.

that sucks bad. Oh well. Since BT hooks slower connections to other people with slower connections your speed is gonna crap out. No wonder BT is starting to be so gawd awefull slow. I hope all trackers ban this client (some allready ban IP's to leeches) and any that support leech functions. Its a coming, I assure you. So enjoy being a leech while you can!(sic)

Unlike with kazaa where the client can simply lie about is participation level, your partcipation on BT is stored with your peers. You know if someone is sending you information or not and therefore if to return the favour. Every now and again your client will send some packets to someone that you arn't trading with. If they don't send packets back, either because they have no upload or their max upload is all used up to other people, then your client will stop sending packets.
You only need to send 16kb of data a minute to keep someone uploading to you. In theory you could make a client to only send 16kb to each person a minute and then you can download away. This is not what BitTornado does. BitTornada allows for a maximum upload, but not a maximum upload to each peer.
Perhaps one day a client that allows this and many other potential ways of leeching from BT will be released - perhaps there already is.
Currently the biggest threat is people who log off the second their download completes.
