I just wondered if there is a way i could record a live streaming internet radio show to my hard drive? I want to do this as theres a long interview with a band i like and i want to save it, Is it possible or should i just hook my minidisc recorder and tape it straight to mini disc?

Thanks :upside

Well, hooking up the minidisc recorder is probably your best bet but if you want to record to the harddrive, you can use any audio editor like soundforge or cool edit.

Just change the record source to "what you hear" or "stereo mix"...depending on what your soundcard mixer ap labels it.

Yes, soundforge or similiar is nice. You just need one of those two-sided male cords. That makes it easy so that you take one end and plug it into your sound card, and take the other end and put it into the microphone jack, and record. You cannot use Windows Sound Recorder, as it only allows about 45 seconds I believe.

You can find some "free shareware" editions on your local p2p app :p

lol..sorry...It just funny to hear the word "tape." Does anyone tape anything anymore? I remember using that word back in the day.

I think it's 1 minute. I recall wanting to record a song so bad, I ended up making like 4-1 minute segments with the sound recorder. Not a very good program for music. :goodjob
