Has anyone ever got this message when trying to login to Yahoo Messenger?

System: Your account has been locked for security reasons.

This same problem has occurred in the past..I just can't keep an account with them, I don't know why it happened the first time, and I don't know why it's happening now. And I can't login for help because the damn account is locked!

Anyone have any idea as to why this is happening?

Yeah, yahoo sucks. That's a given. Try My Way (http://my.myway.com/) instead. It seriously blows away all other web-based email. I've been using it over a year now and It hasn't failed yet. No spam either. The portal page is nice also. Lots of features. No banners.

Sorry I didn't specify..I meant the yahoo messenger..lol
my email is all good though, I use Thunderbird.

I am going to retype how to resolve the issue.
delete your cookies.
next after you delete your cookies go to yahoo.com and login with your current user name and then password.

if you are able to login it was the cookie problem. I suggest you to go to account settings and change your password.

once you reset the password login to yahoo messenger and it should work.

i had the same problem. just uninstall yahoo messenger and then reinstall it. the problem should go away. oh and i hate myway.com knowing they are own By iwon

So far no luck in uninstalling & reinstalling. I guess my account is locked for good. They run a pretty shitty service..not even giving me a reason why they locked it. Oh well, I only had about 5 people on my buddy list.

Yahoo is ok... but MSN Tops them all (For me)

Any messenger can have errors even the MSN server has errors sometimes! Just cause the messenger has a temp error doesnt make it SUCK!!!!

Everyone has their personal favourite so be careful when you say "Yahoo sucks"

The last time I used Yahoo messenger was two and half years ago when the new version (I forget the number) started to go downhill. Never went back after that.

it could be that youre a victim of a script kiddy playing cool guy games with your screen name. if they do it once a day you could be locked forever. if you dont take apropiate actions
you could try logging onto your e mail then your name sometimes that works. and yes delete your cookie..other than that theres a way to use proxies to unlock it but im tired and if you really need me to ill do my best to explain later. yahoo sucks as they cant find a way around this lame ass prog. most likely though when you get that error its do to people trying to log into your name continously using a server cracker. i recommend changing your password to a more secure one if possible.. (know anyone that wants your account) well hope this helped, later..
