Copy burned DVD

I'm having problems making a "backup" of a "backup" dvd stored on DVD+R. My burner is +/- but it seems DVDXCOPY will not recognize the "backup" to burn another "backup". I've tried using Nero and Roxio 6 and it stalls about half way.

What's everyone thinking?

i am thinking you will have an easier time with dvd shrink. go to www.dvdshrink.org and download it from there. Its so much more user friendly and it will do backups of dvd r

DVDXCOPY won't allow you to make a backup of a backup, that was part of their argument that their product was legal. Flantanella has the right idea of the solution.

DVDshirnk is da bomb - i cant think of any other easy way to back up your dvds (soo simple) - if you have any other programs similar and easier to use - let us know - i just recently purchased a dvd burner and iam learning how to work with it. any other programs out thier for noobs new to the dvd scene? please post. o and especially for dvd drives always check for firmware upgrades.....

please post more programs that i can learn from..

DVD Shrink is too advanced... i dont know any for beginers but Imtoo DVD Ripper is what i use....

DVD Decrypter and DVD2One are a good combination for DVD Videos. DVD2One shoudn't protect the disks though I've never tried a copy of a copy.

If top quality is your priority, for DVD9->DVD5, Pinnicle InstantCopy gives the best results. It takes the longest.

As for DVD5 to DVD5, you can use any regular DVD copier! Nero can duplicate dvdxcopy'd discs, I expect any other normal DVD burner software to do as well. Just don't use the original DVD9 ripping program and duplicating burned DVDs should be trivial.

A very good application is CDRWIN v3.9F (new version finaly has dvd support).
The best option is using Toast Titanium 6 ... sorry ... only for Mac OSX users.
