Could someone tell me if this theory is correct?

If one is sharing full length mix shows and acoustic radio sets/interviews, is that viewed as legally different from sharing material availible on CD for purchase?

Depends - for the interviews, did you rip them off TV, or record them yourself? If you got them off TV, then no - they belong to the station.

However, the RIAA isn't going after that, so you could probably get away with it.
