Hey guys my friend is in need of some help regarding Adaware and Verizon DSL.
I remember this kind of incident a while back and I was wondering if anybody has an answer on how to solve this issue.
My friend has Verizon DSL and recently she downloaded adaware and ran it to clean her system of shitware. After adaware cleaned her system she can no longer connect to the internet. In her network neighbourhood area it keeps saying "cannot browse net" and she can't log on to aim, surf, nothing.
I know she probably removed something important that adaware picked up, but does anybody know what that was and how to solve this issue?
Please help, thanks!

well if she had adaware remove something you should be reinstate what she recently deleted with that back up feature. i dunno to much bout that but there is a way to reverse what she deleted or something.

I have verizon dsl and I have run ad-aware multiple times and I have never had a problem. Are you sure that ad-aware is the issue?

I dont think it has anything to do with verison. Sounds like one of the programs adaware detected, improperly removed it and messed up the computer settings.
Try using system restore, then try a different method in removing the ad programs.

The thing is she has windows 98 and she doesn't have the cd for it either :(
It also has to do with adaware because this occured as soon as she cleaned her system...
Damn...any other ideas or solutions?

Well maybe if you go and buy a windows 98 cd that will help.

Third post on this site (http://computing.net/windows95/wwwboard/forum/147706.html)
Sounds like that is the solution so I guess I'll try that :)

Sounds to me a winsock problem. I passed by some adware that when they are not remove right would pervent you from connecting to the internet and that from a dial-up to dsl. Find a program call LSPFix and remove the unwanted adware winsock files and reboot.
