I reported snips home page as abuse and the abuse team @homestead.com said they would look into it.
It did not take them long, checked site and download pages not there.

I would like to think it was the abuse report that did This. but Snip maybe rebuilding the site.

But someting has to be done now, uses of the channels are being abused and are leaving. think of all the good rooms we have lost

KM and Snip King aka FoxIE should be leaving on the next short bus.

I find the supposed "reasoning" as to why this was posted on the site to be ludicrous (to help get back at the people doing harm). By fighting fire with fire people like Snip and KM will destroy a wonderful community like WinMX, and I doubt I am the only one who has made good friends in the various chatrooms and hope to make more. I hope Snip's and KM's isp (and all other isp's they attempt to go to) put a stop to this nonsense once and for all.

Damn leave a forum for 2 seconds and the whole damn world changes. After reading the above post, I still don't have an idea what has happened. I do know that for what ever reason I am having a hell of a time downloading each forum. Takes about 45 sec to get a page done, and hell I have 3.1mg speed. What gives?

WEll as of 2/22 the 3 sites in question have been down for over 4 days

Ive used winmx for years and all ways found it to be one of the best P2P programs out the chat the multisource downloads and easy set up and securty was a point that won me over. In the last 2 months two users KM the host of

TEEN_AE5F12188F5B have been offering a poison program for down load to use on chat rooms to be able to take over the room this is one thing but now KM has a file that by his own words this uncompressed copy that wasn't intended to see the light of Day. which allows you to see the source code of mx and to edit it has me worried
first the takeing over the chat rooms ok no big deal i guess but the uncompressed mx destroys the safty of mx as a P2P the site to back up my words is http://poison.kicks-ass.net/ you will find the file under
How to protect my room from it. So i now must leave WinMx for safty reasons if he will use a program aganst the chat rooms you can bet he will use the uncompressed file to find any way he can to hack into and do damage to users of the WPN. He says he is dong nothing wrong and no one can do any thing to stop him. Well he is wrong he has taken away our securty and has done to WinMX what spyware and the hacks did to kazza and other P2P programs that have fallen so KM has done what the RIAA has not been able to do could he be part of a plot thats up to you to decide as for me i will be moving to a new P2p one with out KM and Snip. FrontCode all you need to do is look at your progran and see why its going down and thank KM and Snip for covering the hole on it. Slyck im sorry for the long rant but you have been the only hope we have had.
by this post you can see the site is back up so if any one cares do what you can ill be watching and if this is taken care of i will happly be back to WinMx but i dont like KM haveing the code its Just not Safe any more.

Good god... First it was RCMS problems, then it was the random shutting down of connections and rooms, and now this! I used to be a die hard user of winmx but now it seems that it will never recover. rumors have been going around about a new version for a long time, but i have been to the winmx site and it remains the same: un-updated for over a year. Someone has to do SOMTHING about this. I only wish there was a winmx e-mail site i could post some info on these attacks on, but i have searched several times on several sites and no cigar. I remember about a year and a half ago when winmx 3.31 came out, they said: "this is the final release"

I dearly hope this is not the case. The people at winmx need to at least come out with patches for some (if not all) of these problems so they can at the least keep SOME of their more loyal users. I have been using winmx for over three years now and every time a problem arises i usually find the solution to the problem, but with some of the newer problems, you cannot find a solution as easy anymore. and from the sound of this problem, the only way to fix it for everyone is to eliminate the poisoned software by either patching, upgrading or finding an alternative to winmx.

one of the main reasons i choose winmx is because it had the best chatrooms, there were thousands of chatrooms with hundreds of thousands of users chatting, but with this new problem, there may not be anyone chatting in a few short months.

There is alot of shady dealings going down with winmx, spoofing of peoples files and kiddies crashing the chat rooms but I havent really seen any of this, just going on what I hear. Why cant these people come up with something to help the WPN community and stop the stupid, self serving bullshit.

This is true.... if only but one can only wish, too bad we dont have anything to fight back with i say give all the room hosts an ip list of everyone in the room (starting to hallucinate been up so long screen is all wavey =D) so the host can block unwanted before they even enter errrm and dont correct me i know its called ban LOL, but more over stop it ahead of time before it happens is what im trying to get at, like a file scan be4 entering the room

WinMX is a 'tired' design. There are better programs out there, but WinMX is one of the better programs for chat.

Try filetopia. It is good for chat also.

I feel like I know alot of people on the winmx network which is a feeling I dont get with other programs. I used to like winmx alot for chat, but never did like how it transfered files. Once you switch to filetopia, the winMX interface is not as effective as filetopia.

There is a learning curve to any program, better programs exist out there. perhaps winMX 4 will fix some of the UI design problems of the program. :)

and RCMS for the chat rooms vladd44 of vladd44.com has been working on and has found a poison free rcms he is useing now his chat room is vladd44 on mx. TY vladd for doing all you can do to help the mx program. Ive not heard any thing about SNIP in over a month i do know he is still running his chat room . lol, yes, u ask where vladd got it from? i was given it 3 days ago, and i will be having a look at it tommorrow when i have more time (been busy since i got it) - if its what i think it is then perhaps i'll mod the poisons on the site for it... if it really is poison free i may even use it myself

I find a lot of KM's software useful, and use his chat server, and his chat client, rabbit. the vladd team says rabbit has a back door that KM can exploit, well he does offer the source code.. so why don't they just find it and remove it? I talk to KM a lot myself, and find him to be a sensible fellow, helpful and patient. the vladd help room's team seems to be impatient, and usualy unhappy, telling people "f*** off" I myself havn't used RCMS for 5 or so years, and never saw poison used back then, I do remember the good old {rtf/999} or whatever it was though.. so now, seriously, why doesn't anyone fix rabbit?
