This will most likely get thrown out by the superior oh holy mod but I have to try.
I have a few friends down south who use Imesh, does anyone have any information about this program and if you do can you tell me why it is so popular down south?

Its not really popular, people use kazaa/kazaa lite alot more if they use fasttrack. Programs arent really confined too much to geography, its just that is the programs that your friends and their friends use.

iMesh, is based in Isreal.
It has it's own "pool of users" as Slyck.com (http://www.slyck.com/ft.php?page=4) describes, and also communicates with Grokster and Kazaa clients on the fasttrack network.
As for why people "down south" use it, I really think it's just a coincidental trend or something.

I have heard of Imesh before I think by surfing the net, but these friends of mine sware that it is much better then Kazaa. I would rather take the advise of you guys instead. And stick with my Kazaa Plus. I think everyone here is always looking for a better program to download MP3 files, but that falls into the old saying, The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, well until you leap over there and fall into the septic tank that is filled with crap.
With you answers I am going to make it a law for me from now one, I will stick with Kazaa Sharman Networks, at least I know that the program works good. I have been looking for a few hacking tools that might help me out. I wrote an email to Kazaa Plus support about the participation program that they have in the software, the letter I got back was that it is used for people who just sign on once in a while. I think that statement was full of crap.
Thanks again

I'm in Texas, which is south of the south, with the exception of Southern Florida, but all of the "noobs" here use Kazaa, if theyre a little advanced, its K-Lite, if they're good with computers its MP2P, and for people who've been filesharing a while, we use a little of everything, with the exception of FastTrack.
But to answer the question, what Ken said is correct, and Slyck does an excellent job of explaining programs.
