Virtualdub or Nanodub will do this using the audio "interleave" function.

Have you tried playing them in different players? I had this issue when I played xvids in WMP 6.4. I had to use wmp9 and it cleared it right up.

Sorry I didn't get back to you about this boywonder, but I had an important job interview.
Looks like you have been sorted now!

yes,ive tried different players(windows media9,bs player, divx player)and it does it on all of them, although they seem to do slightly better on windows9 player, but not good enough to be watchable.g-spot didnt find any errors with any of them,so i dont know whats going on,as the files apparently arent corrupt.

Try the following:

-Defrag the drive your video is in.
-Get another video codec or upgrade the current one.

is this video you captured that worked fine before but isn't working now? or is this video using a new device or software that you haven't been able to get bugs out of.

if it worked before the difference between your switch in settings will offer the best clue as to whats going on.

otherwise this issue can often be a complex one related to multiple factors such as what card you capture with, what software you used to capture, encoding type/rate etc...

Try VLC Media Player. It plays anything no matter how broken all your codecs are.

already tried that, but it wont play, just makes a horrible static noise, thats the best way i can describe it.it also used to work fine before these problems started

Sounds like you need to do a clean install of Windows.

Check http://windowsreinstall.com if you need a guide.

hey all, while we're on this subject, i have a similar problem.

i download my films (usually avi files) from kazaa lite, and then convert them to mpeg (using avi2vcd) so that i can watch on tv. sometimes after i have decompressed the film b4 converting, the audio goes out of sync (i know this happens because on the film there is one bit where the film goes fuzzy, then goes back to normal), after this is when the audio prob starts.
i was hoping does ne1 kno how i can fix this? help wil be very appreciated!

thnx!
