I think it pops up after you restart but if not.... you're screwed. You'll never see that desktop again.

just create a new text file, and place this in it:
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop
then, rename it to Show Desktop.scf
(be sure you don't have "hide file extension for known file types" on in your "folder options" control panel.)

Open Notepad and enter the following text.
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop
Now save the new file as "Show Desktop.scf" (without quotes). I recommend you save it to your desktop, then drag-and-drop the icon to the Quick Launch bar or whatever location you want the shortcut to appear.

actually it is most useful as a mouse button command on a multi-button mouse.... especially if you are looking at um uhh... Adult material... and someone walks in... button 6 hides all ;)

Hey Dude...I showed you an app yesterday in that other thread that would solve both this problem and the taskbar clock problem. The taskbar repair tool plus.
The Taskbar Repair Tool Plus (http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/windowstips/story/0,24330,3615699,00.html) Just check out the video highlight. It says what it does.

I missed that button as well... I used to use the right-click shortcut, but after replacing the button it is more useful.
Thanks DeadSeaMonkey!
