How can I set a file to be associated with nothing. So when I double click it (Windows XP) asks me what to do with the file? Also, is there a way to make all .fxf files (a file extenstion I made up) have a default icon I choose?

In Explorer, click Tools, then click Folder Options.

if a program doesn't show under the "open with" menu AND doesn't allow me to pick it through browse what should I do?
It's photoshop 7 and the file type is jpeg. imageready shows. :|

Browse to the executable for Photoshop.
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0
