RegSeeker, the best freeware reg cleaner i've found.. better than any pay program for that matter...
"RegSeeker is a handy tool for managing several popular registry items and searching the registry by keyword. It offers quick access to Startup Entries, Uninstall Information, Color Schemes, History items (URLs, Recent Documents etc) and IE Favorites. The program also includes a registry cleaning feature that finds invalid and unused registry entries, allowing you to delete them. RegSeeker can automatically create a backup before deleting any registry entries. The program comes with an attractive, easy to use interface. Nevertheless it is not intended for complete beginners and you should feel comfortable working with the Windows registry before using it."
Get it from snapfiles --- http://www.snapfiles.com/get/regseeker.html

I'll call Billy and tell him to hire you in order to "final"-test every windows copy on earth... if you can crash it, they can't sell it.. Sounds like a good deal for me :P
Anyway, good luck with your chicks

RegCleaner was never designed for XP. It seems to work fine, but it could be risky.

also it is being updated, but is no longer freeware, now it is shareware.
but you can still find the last freeware version if you google.

RegCleaner was never designed for XP. It seems to work fine, but it could be risky. I was wondering about that due to my friend said it tweeked his registry on XP Pro. I've been running it on my XP home comp for a year and it works great.

If that is correct things have changed. The guy who wrote it said it was his first effort and crude and that he was going to work on jv16 Power Tools exclusively.
That was a few months ago.Maybe someone else bought it?

I have been using jv16 application for registry cleaning it. Works great! The thing is, I use it for networking. And although it is a bit of a hassle in changing settings and copying it to the workstations, i guess its worth it. The thing is, it doesn't have automatic registry back-up prior to registry cleaning to both server and workstation. You know, the created back-up would be saved to the workstation cleaned and copied to the server. That's all...
