Here is my fantastic idea to support non-RIAA music!
We should all buy some albums occasionally! I know, this is a radical idea and is against the idea of Zeropaid.com (you know... paying, uh, zero?), but I have a way that it works out well for all involved.
Here is my idea:
1) Find music that you like and are willing to support via p2p "previewing." Make sure that this music is independent and has no RIAA membership by checking it out at: http://www.magnetbox.com/riaa/ (if it is RIAA owned, feel free to download it... pay nothing for this boring, pedestrian tripe).
2) Go to your local independent record store and buy said previewed album (no Best Buy or Wal-Mart--it is best if you find a local record store that doesn't use computers and gives you a hand-written invoice).
3) Listen to said album and rip a high quality, Alt-Preset copy and burn an exact copy onto a CD... hell, you could even scan the liner notes if you so desire.
4) Bring the CD to an independently owned establishment that sells used CDs and sell it back. Get some cash back for the CD and help out another small business.
By doing this, you have given some money to the artist that you like, the local record store that is struggling to stay in business, and some other business of your choice. Let's say that you spend 12 bucks on a CD... then sell it back for 3-4 dollars... you are out what? 8 bucks? Not too bad to help out people that are strugging, and you have a nice copy of the music for yourself.
If more people did this, these indie musicians and stores may just thrive...
Just remember, file sharing independent music isn't bad... it actually increases indie music sales. The RIAA are the bastards whose music is causing people to get indicted.

(This idea is frog approved!)
