There are computers on my LAN that are sending me lots of traffic on ports known to be used by viruses/trojans. The administrators are not doing anything to either block these computers or anything else to stop them. Is there any form of vigilante justice that I can preform? My firewall/router is not allowing any of this traffic through, but its slowing down my bandwith. Any help, beyond just flooding these PCs with pings.

rather than use "vigilante justice" how about contacting those users and informing them that they are infected with a virus, if they are running 2k or xp you can use "net send" to pop a little message up on their screen telling them that they are infected and how to get rid of the virus.... DO NOT try to take them off line by force.... "vigilante justice" usually results in prison, which results in dropping the soap, which results in.... well, let's not go there

if you think they are deliberately spreading viruses contact the police, otherwise contact the user
