I keep getting uploads from a client called MMM and it hammers me hard then I get disconnected from Gnutella! What is going on??

Strange, is this on shareaza? If so just right click it and select ban host. That should do the trick. I wonder if this is the new morpheus?

Thats the latest Morpheous verison.. There was some discussion on the GDF about it which starts in this (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/the_gdf/message/9618) thread.

Thanx dude your link didn't work but I found a whole bunch of posts about it. I wonder why they call it MMM? Hmmm Anyways is Jtella any good if Morpheus is? Does Jtella have ultrapeers?:cross

Jtella was last updated in Oct 2000 or 2001 and does not support Peers. It is a retrograde step which is damaging the network.

It wouldnt be if all the programs dropped .4 handshaking support long ago.. Bearshare is the only one that i know that does it and yes was flamed for doing it at that time.. Even though its been out for about a year so there shouldnt be any reason to support it anymore and Legacy Users should not get a free ride forever.. If they want to partcipate in the network then they should be expected to use software that promotes the health of the network.
Supporting obsolete practices for longer than its neccessary will only lead to more situtations like this where one program or group can hurt the rest of the network by not keeping there servent up to date and if everyone supports the legacy verison then they have no incentive to update and most likely wont..
