CD BUrner Drivers Hhelp

ok i recently updated from winme to winxp pro. i started it up and it had said it had blocked two of my drivers for my cd burner. i was using adaptec easy cd creator 4 on win me, and now those drivers are blocked because they do not work with xp. i went to roxio.com to see if there was an update for them but the website has nothing about easy cd creator 4. is there a way to fix this without buyinga new version of easy cd creator?

the drivers are Cdr4_2K.sys and Cdralw2K.sys

Download a windows2k image then 'search' for new hardware via right clicking on my computer.

Or get your drives model number and hunt the brands site down...get some xp/2k driver updates and try it.

And last but not least try updating Nero or Easy CD or just uninstalling them and using XP's built in burning...?

Also, did you just install a new drive..? Change anything? Add any hardware?

LIL-Legal. You know what im saying. Let me justify it for you. It's not like you haven't paid for the software already, your just upgrading your OS. It's not your fault it doesn't work.

you have to install a WINDOWS XP patch to get it to work, it has difficulties working in windows xp.. I downloaded the 5.0 platinum version(Legally of course) and you had to install a upgrade patch for XP, a couple other patches to make it a 5.3.10.. The extra patches are to make your cd burner work with differnt hard drives.

Well thats just not true... I've got a Easy CD 4.0 copy that runs on XP just fine. Just doesn't catch newer CDR/DVDR drives.

on roxio 5.0 version, it lets you begin songs at the end and cross fade them to start into each other.. And has other useful things too=) When a song goes low, the other song starts.. Give it a concert effect =)

my dirve isnt burning no matter what program i use, its something wit the drivers, can someone give me a link for the drivers? i have the disk for easy cd creator 4, but when i install it it says its not compatible. everytime windows starts it says it has blocked those 2 drivers for the cd burner.

ok the only way i can get it to work is to use xp built in burnung, kinda slow but it worked. i still wish i could figure this all out

go to the adaptec website and download aspi check, then if it says your aspi is not working download the aspi file for your OS.

check it out, it can't hurt.

oh wow, all i can say is thank god for system restore! i just said screw it and started messin with the drivers, and stupid me i didnt make a backup of the registry, and then the cd rom drive didnt work whatsoever! that god system restore took care of it. but i still have that burning problem

ive tired other progs but the only one i can get to work is the built in win xp burning with windows media player

OK BMC, did you See the screen shot i gave you. It said version 4.0 will not work under XP.. It may on some machines. but UPgrading and USEING 5.0 will fix alot of it, DOWNLOAD it , it has also xp patch, two more upgradeing patches, restart your machine.. can get alot of info if you actually take time to read what advice people give you.

CDBurnerXP Pro is big, but very good and free, and seems to work well on xp.....
