i have tried to convert an .avi file using TmpgEnc twice and both times the file stops at 30:00, when the entire file is about 42:00 (minutes:seconds)..so i used virtualdub mp3freeze and DivXRepair to look for bad frames.....here's my report from DivXRepair
Bad Frame Report from DivxRepair
____________________________________________
File Name: D:\NAME OF FILE.avi ; Total frames: 64528
Total of 146 bad frames found.
Bad frames interval from 46566 to 46712
Repaired file: D:\NAME OF FILE.avi.REPAIR_OK.AVI
____________________________________________
BTW....im going from a DVD-RW (.avi file) to my HD (.mpg) so that i can put the .mpg files on DVD-R....then VirtualDub Mp3 freeze stopped at the point of the freeze that i noticed (about 30:00)...and another screen came up saying "VirtualDub Program failure", and there were all kinds of numbers and letters.....on the upper left portion were alternating green and purple strips with a series of numbers, then 2 or three letters, then another series of letters and numbers, Ex:
01838000: jge 1837fae
this colum was labeled "Program disassembly"....then there was another colum to the right of that called "CPU registers" that had 2 or 3 letters then then equals a series of numbers (or numbers and letters), Ex:
EAX = 00000800
Finally, there was the "Estimated Call Stack", which contained "Could not open debug resource file"......the program wouldnt let me save the file, and when i hit ok i got "Vdub-mp3-freeze has caused an error in XVID.DLL. Vdub-mp3-freeze will now close. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer" i then hit close....
overall, i have no idea whats going on here....any help would be appreciated, but if its too difficult, ill just skip that episode.....thanks all....
