Hi All,
Right I'm quite new to WinMX and am experiencing a really annoying problem when I use Winmx or Bit Torrent. After a few minutes of downloading stuff my computer totally stops responding for about 10-15 seconds. After that it becomes usable again for about 5 seconds. This happens over and over again many times (sometimes until I reboot).
On the occasions when the computer becomes responsive again everything is fine except I cannot access the internet. When I reboot everything is fine again. This does not happen in other p2p programs such as kazaa, shareaza, DC etc Only BT and WinMX.
I hope I've made myself clear enough!!! Any thoughts on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated. :-)
Stewy D
EDIT: I'm using WinMX 3.31

Maybe your firewall/antivirus apps are choking....Fire up taskmanager and keep an eye on your resorces as the problem occurs...let us know what you see.

hmm.... normally I'd tell you to use a secondary connection instead of a primary, but that doesn't seem to be the issue, since your specs seem solid, but I'd try it out anyway....if that works, you may want to do other effective things like limiting your searches, as big, inclusive ones can be a major drain. or you might want to forgo the wpnp and just stick to opennap servers.
WE_DELIVER has got some good advice, I'd try that as well, it couldn't hurt.
kazaa you say? I do hope you are using Kazaa lite or dietk because if you're not you may want to uninstall it (and the regular DC, if you have it) and swab out your system with adaware, spywares could be the problem.
good luck dude
