Um... Hi. Im a newbie in em forums here ... I've been looking through post before and sort of wanted to ask something from trading ppl. No no don't worry, im not going to start another "traders bad!" forum right now lol but i wondered... (sorry if this has been asked/mentioned anyplace before) ... some of you before have sayd that you trade but you dont cut off ppl who have files, even though none of which you'd desire... im asking does that go for movie/game/big-files only? Like.. if the person wanting your movie etc. does share lots of mp3's but no other sorts of files you STILL wont cut em off?
Another question... somewhat related to the first one... if my HD is small.. i couldnt possibly keep all big movies ON it.. so i think i download them, watch them and delete to save HD space.. how AM i to trade/share big files like that in the first place? Also i've noticed that some ppl before have sayd they notice one d/ling their movie one day and next day doesnt have it shared... what if they have already deleted it cuz they had to, and u put em on ignore? just asking... if anyone can give nice friendly answers/advice id appreciate it :)
Well.. some info of my view on trade/leech world... i dont HATE traders like some ppl, they just make me sad cuz i dont see any hope in getting anything.. as i said not too big HD anyhow... oh and another question.. to those saying that "if u want a movie so badly, put some effort in it and get something the trader wants" ... well it can be guessed what trader might want would also be big.. and if its big where from will u get it? lol everyone want to trade remember... or will u have to start a chain reaction of somesort... this guy wants that thing... that guy has it, but he wants 3rd thing... another guy has 3rd thing but he needs 4th thing. About leechers... I dont like em .. but what can we do about them? i mean... no way for me to find out HOW long the user has been using WinMX... he/she might be a newbie and cutting the d/l would not be nice then, i mean we all have been newbies sometime and everyone might not have the choise to rip cds or anything... Also... a question... if you ignore someone, will he be ignore for good, no matter what name he might use, or what server? Can a person log onto one server w one name, other server w other name and get 5 of your songs at same time w-out u knowing its same person?
Oh alright, thats enuff out of me for now lol i hope you'll get time to answer, excuse my somewhat poor english :)

I don't have a whole lot to say about the Trader/Leach, to each his own I guess, but if you really want music videos try using a google search I get many music videos directly off the web which I in turn drop in my shared folder, there are many avenues other than just P2P to get the things you're interested in if you are inventive enough,,, good luck and keep on sharing.

well im not in the habit normally of cutting downloads or leaches. if the p2p program has the option. i would say yes to not let leeching i think fair amount of sharing should be about 10 files or more and about 650 mbs the space of a cdrom and share the cd rom if you have a small hd ive seen people share 10 files and the mb count is at 5k but as we know a good movie is about 700mbs or more if they dont have the room to share i dont begrudge them but atleast find a cd with something on it beit sharte ware or what ever as long as you are sharing i dont care what files they are
just my opinion. :blah

Also... a question... if you ignore someone, will he be ignore for good, no matter what name he might use, or what server?

In winmx (2.6 at least, not sure about 3) you are ignored based upon the user id. Theoratically (not that I support this behavior) if you are ignored with specific user name, if you use another name you and dl. It sort a like ignoring a person in chat, it targets your name rather than IP or any other more permant features. I'm not sure how permant being banned on a opennap server in winmx is (never been banned, so never had to deal with it)
