Questions - restricting DL's, resuming files.

There are so many people sharing 0 files. Is there any way I can set WinMX to not allow users sharing x # of files or less from downloading from me? If not, can I manually keep a user from downloading from me? I was told to add them to the ignore list, but that doesnt work. Must just be for IM's.

Also, a lot of times a file I'm downloading will get about 99% done and time out. When I try to resume (even from the same person), it says file mismatch. Why? I've tried the 'trim 10K from end'. How can I get these to resume?

For your issue of ppl sharing 0 files, if it bothers you badly, you can try DC++. They at least force you to share in order to trade in most hubs. Or BT - sharing by default!

Get Leechhammer and run it with winmx.Y ou set the set minimum number of shared files for ppl who are trying upload from you. Anyone below that numbers gets "hammered" and can't download from you.

So if a person keeps trying to download from me, there's no way to stop that person from keep attempting to DL, with WinMX, without an external app?
Also, someone else told me about MXMonitor. Is Leechhammer better?

With Winmx alone probably not.

There is the option blocking thier IP using a firewall/router or adding thier IP to Peer Guardian. However, This will only work if they have static IP. The most simple solution would be either Leechhammer of MXMonitor for winmx though.

I know MXMoniter also does something similar but I personally like Leechhammer's settings better.

Actually, clicking Ignore on a user does seem to work most of the time, unless those people just aren't trying to DL again from me. I've only had two people that were in my DL list again after clicking Ignore. I verified the last person had the same username as the first time he tried.
And supposedly the Ignore is how the the external apps mentioned above do it too.

Yes ignore does work.
As for leechhammer, its a great app and i use it alot. Mxmoni is a better app though. Moni goes one step further and lets you make priority uploads. Either with other user names or by specified file.
