It seems the RIAA goes after all the good programs. They took down Napster and AudioGalaxy Now I heard That they were taking FastTrack to court. This means Kazaa, Kazaa lite. I don't know if thats true. I think it is becouse there popular but that can't be true becouse Blubster Gnucleus are Pretty popular. oh well I geuss soon were going to be stuck using The Qube

They have been trying to take FastTrack to court for a while (they only go after KaZaA and Grokster, they don't know any others exist). I believe they were going after the original owners of KaZaA for a while, but now that Sharman Networks owns them, things will be a bit different. Sharman Networks is working to create a legal business model, and have proposed this to the RIAA, but with no success (when will they listen?).

Doesn't RIAA come here to Zeropaid and see others on FastTrack (Kazaa Lite).

This should be obvious. The better programs are more popular so hence they have more users. More users more files shared on a network. RIAA is trying to get bang for thier bucks. Even though they don't see the fact for everyone they shut down anotehr pops up and users flock to it. I was wondering though Winmx is Canadian right? At least i though Frontcode technologies was. Kazaa is Holland right? hmmmm i wonder if these Govt will step up and do the right thing.

Yea but then people will move to another program good or bad and that program will get big.

I don't know about the theory of one network being shut down, and then another one popping up to take its place. Well, it's true that new networks and programs are always showing up. However, I have yet to see a network even come close to providing the kind of results that we had with Audiogalaxy. I haven't seen a significant boost in performance from FastTrack, Gnutella, ect. since Audiogalaxy's downfall.
I'm not saying that P2P is dying, but with centalized servers having been taken out of the picture, I wonder if things will ever get as good as they were with Audiogalaxy during its prime. I do have some hope for networks like FreeNet. It might be pretty lame right now, but everything starts out small. Anyways, that's all.

thats the beauty of dc++-- it was created by no company, it isn't marketed, its too complicated for the average kazaa user to grasp, and hubs have mandatory minimums and passwords (in the private hubs) to keep unwanted characters out (RIAA MPAA)
if it had too it could go completely underground--all hubs could go private + invite ony (as all the best ones are anyway)

Do you think the Recording Industry Association of American (RIAA) truly represents musicians in their battle against file-sharing?
