Hey..
I know everyone recomends and registry cleaning program here (I had it) but I don't have it anymore (had to reformat).
Anyone know what I'm talking about or know any good programs?

Another place to keep clean I just found out about is the Hosts file in c:/windows--open it with word pad and then eliminate everything under "# Adservers and other crappy sites:" I don't know if any of these registry cleaners go into the Hosts file, but if they don't then do it manually.

If you use the right software and follow general precautions, it should be fine...

You can clean the Registry with this utility.
RegClean (http://download.com.com/3000-2094-881470.html?tag=lst-4-1)
Or you can go to download.com and look up Clean Registry and there should be some programs that probably will help you.

If you have Win 2000 or XP, I like RegScrub XP and it's free! It works great and has so far proven to be safe to use, unlike other cleaners.
Get it here (http://www.freedownloads.nl/RegScrub_eng.htm)
I also really like RegCrawler, but it's not free.
