Yeah, it's sad isn't it? I mean what do they expect? Do they really think everyone will use Morpheus again like in 2001 just because they teamed up with GnucDNA (yuck!) and mldonkey (double-yuck!)?

All that is left to do is hope they don't harm the networks too much that they're connecting to.

I am using it myself. NOT BAD. After downloading it I ran Adware and Spybot to remove all the extras they throw in. Still works, I like this version so far, Hope the final is as good.

There we go, proving how bad their implementation is

As much as I find fasttrack loathsome, I still can't condone an app that leeches off another. FT has enough leeching without other programs wanting to connect to it, with no-way of sharing anything with the FT people. On the other hand, if enough of these type programs come out, it will kill FT forever! Hmmm, maybe its cool after all.

Yeah, let Streamcast and Sharman struggle till both of them go down in the pits of hell together.

I like StreamCast to an extent now. I hated them after they got disconnected from FT and moved to Gnutella overnight. But, they've done an excellent job coming back.

They're taking the MLDonkey code and tweaking it. They're blackmailing Sharman in a way saying that they will implement sharing if Sharman releases the code-base to them, which would send FastTrack into the world of open-source, most likely overnight. Plus, in the final version of Morpheus 4, they wont have G2 enabled by default, because they think all the new traffic might have a bad effect on the network. Said they will enable it by default on 4.1 once they find out it wont hurt the network. Of course, any networks can be enabled and disabled through the options menu.

If anyone's wondering, I got all this from the Slyck interview.

Do you know that for a fact? I thought if Morpheus connected to the FT network, then the files shared by the morpheus user would be accessible on FT. "Leeching" is the individual user and not the program itself.

Programs don't leech, users do.

No its a fact. Morpheus users share nothing with fasttrack users. At this time it is impossible, untill like Hawkburn says, FT releases their code to the public, or modifies Kazaa itself to search the morpheus users. But more than likely Kazaa it going to have to show their hand and kick off Morpheus again. This will open up a whole new can of worms.
