Is Kazaa lite really 100% legal? How does the RIAA feel about it right now? Does anyone out there know? I would like to know before I download it. Thanks.

not any more illegal than KMD
i'd love to see kazaa actually try to sue anyone for copyright infringement (talk about hypocritical)

Yeah, you're only going to be sued for sharing on Kazaa in general, not for sharing on a particular version.

Your only going to be sued if you share copyrighted material. Must make this totally clear. Shareing stuff like photos you have taken is perfectly legal cause you ownt he photo.
But to stay on topic, depending on the country your from it's probably not iillegal to use Kazaa Lite, considering that really the people who have broken the User agreement of KMD or in fact the people who made it.

Good point but does anyone really want to have KMD with all this "added goodness" where as KL is standard with more features ohh an NO ADS

No ADs is a very good thing.
Hence, the "lite" versions of popular P2P software.

The legality of Kazaa Lite is more for the developers to worry about. The makers of Kazaa Media Desktop are unlikely to come after the users. However, if you use Kazaa Lite to download copyright files then you are breaking the law.

"The law" is quite generic.
It really depends on which country you're talking about. In Taiwan, there are no strict copyright laws. So a person overseas may break US laws, but American laws don't apply internationally.

Of course it is 100% legal.
Think about it. Do you think someone would actually put out a program that got it's users sued?

Wrong. And no need to caps everything, we can read without the shouting.. there are many independent artists and producers that put their music and movies on Kazaa/FastTrack for anyone to download for free, and share without fear.
Your also wrong in the fact that pictures, whether you like it or not, can be copyrighted.
To answer the users question, you won't get sued for using K-Lite, the only way you could get sued in regard to the program itself is hosting it on your computer for other users to download from you, and then theres always getting sued for sharing music.

The original Kazaa software is legal. The courts have ruled that Sharman has no control over how the users use the software and so are not to be held liable for their actions.
There are many things that can be shared with Kazaa that are legal. Notes, personal photos, independent musician's music, and things in the public domain, for example.
Downloading copyrighted material is the crux of the issue. It is very much NOT legal.
