I was using K-Lite 2.4.3 before, but I recently updated to Clean KMD 2.4.4. Now that i finally found sites for Kazaa Lite Resurection 2.4.7, Clean KMD 2.6, and K-Lite 2.6 RC10, I have no idea what to use! I'm reluctant to use Clean KMD 2.6 because i think it's user interface is more like kazaa than kazaa lite, and i dont think it has auto search more. K-lite RC10 i have no idea about it. I don't know whether to use it or not. And Kazaa Lite Resurection i'm clueless about also. I haven't used them. So, someone who has USED THEM ALL, and is NOT just saying what they use, please tell me, Kazaa Lite Resurection 2.4.7, K-lite 2.6 RC 10, Clean KMD 2.6, or stick with Clean KMD 2.4.4? Here is the link for all the downloads. http://www.kdp.2ya.com/ You can message me also. but someone PLEASE HELP.
Moderators, do you think you could put a pull in? I forgot to.
Which do you prefer?

Then there is the version with Chat in it I think it is KLchat RC7 I hope that I got that right. I don't know which one is the best either, I wish they would get togeather and make one version. I tried different ones They all seem to be about the same in most ways,

Where are the new program mods?
Pointing us to the different threads seems to be a cop out.
I'm using KLR 2.4.7, it's the only one I have tried. It is very simular to the old k++ 2.4.3, but comes bundled with KaNAT for those with routers or NATs to connect to others with routers or NATs. It also includes VideoLAN, which I havn't tried except to discover it can play .bin files. It also acts as a replacement to AVI preview. KaNAT and VideoLAN can be downloaded separately, but KLR has it built into the tools.
The BadIP blocker is much easier to update, with only three mouse clicks you are all done.
MP3 checker checks your collection for RIAA corrupted files. This can also be downloaded separately.
The download accelerator no longer appears down at the bottom and runs automatically and Auto Search More is running as defualt.
Finally the option for being a supernode is switched on as defualt.
If you liked k++ 2.4.3, you will like this slightly more bloated version. Just remember the download size is still no more than a high quality MP3 and VideoLAN is a good player. Very simple to install and being well packaged makes it easy to use and looks good.

I may try this resurection and see what its like.
Should i uninstall KL++ to install this one

Yes, you should. It says so at the start of installation. Hashing doesn't seem to take a second with kazaa and most setting can be redone quickly.

If and when I use Kazaa, I use K++ 2.4.3. It's what I got use to and it works great...truth is, I don't use it very often anymore.

I use K++ version 2.60! And I know it works great. I haven't used K++ 2.43 in a while, so I couldn't tell you what kind of quality it still has.

I used to use Kazaa Lite a lot. too many dodgy files, too resource intensive etc.
I now only use DC++ much, much better dodgy files are eradicated very quickly.
ditch it waste of time plus dc forces you to share to be fair so get with it and give dc++ a try/ It takes a little time to configure but in the end nothing touches it!

KLR-7 is about the same as Kazaa 2.4.3, it is no more stable, even after the 'claimed' bugfixes, it still crashes after long usage (especially win98) and after editing any file comments. That's right, Not worth the upgrade. And if you're used to 2.4.3, u can forget the other two mentioned, they are even more bloaty.
DC++ is 'serious' sharing, u need a big collection (i.e large harddisk) and preferably all falling into one category to get onto the good hubs. The good thing about DC++ is that it's standalone (no bloat). The bad thing is u still have to type in your IP for 'active' connections.
Emule is an alternative for rare files (also standalone). Be warned it is 's-l-o-wwww' to start
but share-points build up over time - typically 24hrs. You end up uploading more than you
download.
Conclusion: Keep 2.4.3.

If Kazaa is dead, what's the new hot program nowadays? Or have people just switched over to Bit Torrent?

Yeah, I gotta agree - Kazaa's hay-day is over - people are switching over to eDonkey, BitTorrent, and other growing networks (Ares, etc.)
However, if you're going to choose anything, go KLR - it's just 2.4.3, but with updated tools (on the rare occasion I use Kazaa, I use KLR)
If you're just looking for music, I'd recommend a gnutella client (I personally love Limewire, but i know a lot of people like Bearshare Lite) - I've found there's usually a really good collection of music on it (even really rare ones), with good quality and decient transfer speeds.

Maybe it's just me... but I wouldn't touch KLR with a hundred-foot pole.

KLT, all the way for me. It's more stable, has updated tools, works with XP SP2, and doesn't contain scam ads like its competitors.
