Pop star Britney Spears has marched down the aisle in Las Vegas, marrying a childhood friend from Louisiana, according to news reports.

The 22-year-old diva married Jason Allen Alexander early on Saturday at the Little White Wedding Chapel on the Strip, according to People.com, the online arm of the Time Warner publication. He is from Kentwood, Louisiana, it said.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported on its website that Spears, 22, and Alexander, 22, were granted a marriage licence, citing an affidavit of Application for Marriage Licence filed on January 3.

Las Vegas Wedding Joke

Check this out... I wake up, and as I'm going to work, I hear on the radio news that Britney got married. What luck, I had to be at work all day without reporting this, and it was in the back of my mind the whole day. Now I get home and find out how big this joke was. I mean in less than 1 hour, it was being reported all over the world, from the US to China and then back to the US. Since this wedding was a joke that went to far, why now? It would have been a great April Fools Day joke.
