It's kinda hard to judge them like that, since they are on different networks..........I do not like Gnutella that much, but I do like Ares.
I find the Kazaa like interface to be useful....this would probably be a great program if it was on a different network.

Shareaza is a system hog that locks up after two minutes. Ares doesn't have great features. Kazaa Lite (and all of FastTrack, for that matter) has great content but no features at all.

You people obviously do not know what your talking about.

Ares is probably one of the worst Gnutella clients that have came out of the woodwork. The GUI is horriable. It tries to immitate the grace and sexy-ness of Apple's OSX, but fails horriably. It incorperates ugly Windows icons within it's GUI, what the heck?

It doesn't even work on OSX, yet it tries to immitate it.

There is absolutly nothing special about Ares. Everything it has other Gnutella clients have. Shareaza kicks it's ass in every way possible. The only thing it has that Shareaza doesn't is a "Website" (though Shareaza will allow you to host a website which informs it's visitors of which Ultrapeers your connected to, etc.). The Website is virtually useless if your using a Static IP (Dial up). And bandwidth throttling docked within the transfers area.

It's too buggy, too slow, too ugly to be pubicly released. I cannot BELIEVE people are rating it so high. There is something fiishy about that, perhaps Ares is mass-posting those ratings. If that's not the case, than I've offically lost faith in ZeroPaid as a legitamate source of good Gnutella news and services. It's userbase is filled with un-informed 14 year olds, which have no knoledge or intrest in what really is needed for the masses.

Gnutella is the future of the Internet. It is not a "terrible" network.

If it is so "terrible" please state why.

Gnutella is good because it's an open protocol. After the RIAA destroys the FastTrack network, you'll all be running back to Gnutella.

I think that most people who (like me) just never really like the Gnutella clients will be more inclined to like Ares. Its over all lay out is much cleaner than most and i will support it.

Your right Melvin, I think that was the whole point of this thread
in the 1st place. Most Gnutella Clients are confusing, have way too many options that most users will not ever use.
Ares is just a simple Client. Thats the whole point.

Ares Seems just like kazaa to me ;) While I'm a big Shareaza fan, I think many beginners will LOVE Ares. It is as simple as napster. I will not vote for it as number one but I think it may be number one for a while.
