It seems that some programs when run look very strange with black spots in them or colors that shouldn't be there. It's hard to explain but by looking at the attachment pictures might help. Look specifically at the top and the buttons in the pictures.

If anyone knows how to fix or get rid of this, please let me know. Any help would be appreciated. I run Windows XP Pro, and have been running it for a year now. I doubt it's my graphics card because this problem just appeared a couple months ago. Even if I switch to Windows Class look this still happens.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I get that on my RECORD NOW software when i burn songs. Usually restarting the program, or closing unnecessary programs help.. Or you may need to reinstall it =)

I've tried doing those things, but they don't help. The problem just keeps reappearing.

Assuming you have plenty of free RAM....

Have you tried reinstalling the latest video card drivers?

I also wonder if this could be a heat issue. Dust out your case, its something you should do anyway, just get some compressed air and blow it out. Or you could take the side off and put a box fan next to it (an old LAN party trick).

If you're bored, reinstall windows. Its a great way to spend a day.

I'm inclined to agree with Phalk. It may be the video card drivers are corrupt.
Did you run a windows update recently? The video drivers may have been updated.

Do you think heat can be a factor in this? Make sure you're grounded and be carefull where you stick your screw drivers, but shut down the computer, and as soon as you do, open the case, ground yourself out, and touch your video card and various other components to see if they're really hot. If you can't touch them, thats BAD.

Just be aware of STATIC.

TELL us your PC specs.. RAM, hard drive etc.. and maybe you need more ram.. I restarted my pc ever 7 days, and now and again when i see the black area, which i see, usually its just low on memory.
