today, after i surf zeropaid for 2 or 3 minutes,a microsoft message box will pop up saying"Do you wish to download and install IE plugin(browser Enhancer] and an ok or cancel option to click.but whether you click ok or cancel the box repeatedly comes back up over and over and freezes the screen and the only way out is to reboot.so far,its only happened on zeropaid website, and never happened before today.i was using internet explorer 6)im using my opera browser at the moment or the box would already be popping up everywhere).my OS is 98 se,any ideas what the problem is?

I believe if its called a browser enhancer (you really need to state the popup exactly) then its not from Microsoft. Microsoft doesnt make adware (its makes spyware thats integrated into Windows and doesnt ask you) Anywayy.... Opera has built in pop-up controls. Maybe Jorge needed some more advertising.

Get a pop-up blocker, I use the Google Toolbar one.

That should be the problem. If its a "Security" message, then its likely an adware toolbar plugin.

maybe, just maybe your browser is broken and needs a tuneup.

I would assume you've already run spybot and/or ad-aware?

I got sick of my wife and kids downloading crapware and browser hijackers. So I installed this little program that works great. Give it a try...SpywareGuard (http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareguard.html)
I have heard hijack this works pretty good as well, but I've never tried it.

Certainly not! Crapware won't tune up his browser.

boywonder, this shitty piece of "browser enhancer" most likely is being served by one of the ads displayed on Zeropaid. Ad revenue or not, such garbage should be banned. It hurts the site more than the few cents it gets. Get yourself a decent popup and ad blocker. I myself use Proxomitron which is awesome because it gives you control over every single piece on a web page (here for instance, I have facesoffilesharing in my Kill file). Since it requires editing plain text config files rather than offering "point and click" customization I wouldn't recommend it to everyone.

This is not a new subject, we went thru this last this past year.

collideous is correct. Keep in mind that the security settings for old OS and XP are not the same. Go to TOOL > Option, and make sure that your security settings are at least Meduim.

collideous is adept at managing a software such as Proximitron, but, it can BURY you, so dont change ANYTHING unless you have researched what it does.

Anf finally, for the love of god, UPGRADE.
