i also have a norton related issue.about two months ago,i deleted norton utilities.but my desktop recycle bin icon still says"norton protected recycle bin"even though i can find no trace of it on my computer(even registry)at all.anyone know how to get rid of this nuisance?thanks

I had simmilar problems like these when I used the nortion suite of death. After all of my trials and attempts to get rid of it to no avail I just ended up reinstalling xp it was a lot faster and I was happy ever since then norton FREE!.

you made sure nothing is in the registry? use RegCleaner and make sure.
If there really isn't anything, just click over the name of the bin and take out the Norton Protected part in the name. Wee! GL

i used regclean and found nothing.im not sure what you mean about clicking over the name and taking norton out

NORTON has it files protected incase you delete it, have you uninstalled it or turn off norton protected files?

ok,i finally did find it in my registry and removed it and everything is back to normal,no more norton!thanks for all the help

I have always hated Norton. It is post like this that make me trust none of their software. AVG anti-virus and Shorewall (admittedly not practicle for many) does the job for me.

Norton is a little bish when it comes to uninstalling and installing other versions...many times it needs every entry to be gone...weird.
