I've been waiting to see these...hopefully I'll remember to watch them. Hosted by David Spade.

My guess is that max payne 2 gets more than one award (if thats possible, don't know how they're doing it).

what kinda awards? Best drama game, best action game and stuff or best graphics, best story? And a 1000 people of the team who made the game come up to get the award or the producers?

Xtra, there are gamers who either
1: Hate G4 cause its extremly stupid
or 2: Cant pay for anything past extended cable.

Spike Tv is on many extended cable plans, where as i dont know of any around here with G4

Spike rawks, it has MXC and theres no beating MXC

They already had VG awards on G4... they were called Gphoria and were lame (like all award shows). They were hosted by Jamie Kennedy and were painful to watch (although the five 1/2 hour episodes showing the nominees hosted by Adam West were excellent). I am sure that they have the results on the website and they would be far closer to what people really like than whatever SpikeTV (the TV equivalent of Maxim magazine) is doing.

Awards shows are always crap. I would suggest going to a reputable games site or buying a year end magazine to find out what is a good game... or, perhaps use metacritic.com and find what has been highly reviewed. There are always many excellent games that fall through the cracks. Just saying the "best" always falls short.

Bah! It's a video games award show, not the end of the world. No, you don't have to buy what they show, but it's a god way to see the games without having to stand in line at a gaming store waiting to play the demo. Yes, excellent games do fall through the cracks... that's why the site has a box where you can put which game you thought deserved to win. And i repeat! It's not titled: Video Games Review Show. It's Video Game Awards! You not suppose to use this as a review reference if you don't want to. Lastly, I like Spike TV. Lots of STN, Highlander, MXC, Crusade, ect. Tune in at 9:00 PM EST and just have fun.

No isus, do not say more...lol. Thanks Demonus. I was hoping somone would post this. Suck or not, it's worth checking out for it's 1st time go. I hope it's decent. Spade should be ok, as long as he's not too whiny. It will be funny to see how much/if GTA3 and/or GTA:VC wins. T-2:30 for me.

OMG.....wtf, what utter crap.

Madden winning BEST GAME is an insult to all gamers worldwide. Best sports game, sure....best overall game? Hell no. My vote would easily go to Vice City or even Splinter Cell.

Call of Duty is a good game, but it didn't deserve to beat out Halo for FPS.

Project Gotham Racing and Need For Speed weren't even candidates for best driving/racing game.

The only awards that hit the nail on the head was the online game going to FF XI....best animation to DOA3.....and best action game going to True Crime: Streets of LA among others.

What morons are behind this production?

I have to agree with you on this one. To be honest, I thought the exact same thing you did. But take into consideration this. Madden 2004 is one of the most bought games in the US. Thousands of Football loving adults and teenagers play this. It hits a broader market than other games. I wasn't surprised that it won. Personally, I nevered played the game. I don't like sports games. But the majority of the population disagrees with me.

Its a general rule, a sports game cannot win a all time best game for any contest.

For the best FPS should have been Battlefield 1942: Desert Combat mod.

It is Spike TV... it used to be the Nashville Network... what do they know about Video Games? They are just grasping at straws since CMT took their target demographic. They saw an opening ("hey... there is no tv channel just for men!!"--what about sports networks, Tech TV and porn nets?) and decided to fill it. They know nothing about games, they are just trying desperately to make a program that clicks with their target demographic.

I have to agree with you guys. I was disappointed at a lot of the rewards. Spade did decently and some of the voice-overs were funny. But I couldn't help to think that it was rigged somehow.

These people obviously have a lack of good sense in what a great video game is...

Any true gamer would have never picked a frigging football game over anything else.

Oh well shawners I guess your right...

Just so sad to see such a bad opinion on something like this :[

I missed it, did Max Payne 2 even get mentioned? If not, its not worth my time trying to catch a rerun. MP2 has to be one of THE best single player games I've ever played.
