vcdhelp.com may be able to help you. your talking about breaking a file down to its basic elements tho, thats gonna be painful

You could try www.rjfilms.com/rjfilmedit.htm
It allows frame by frame editing of most AVIs.

Adobe premiere 8 should be able to handle that painstaking task

Adobe Premiere definitely works. If you just want to remove a frame (or series of frames) VirtualDub will do that too. If you are wanting to select a frame, do modifications, then re-insert it into the programme, use Premiere. The latter is really, really time consuming BTW.

Just thought I'd add that www.videohelp.com & www.doom9.org are very good sites for people learning about (or having problems with) editing, encoding, authoring, etc.

Yeah, again, Premiere works absolutley. Just get the newest version pro 1.5 (if you use xp) and you're all set to go.

AfterEffects kicks ass in terms of heavy editing/fx.
I like VegasVideo instead of Premiere though as I find it more user friendly and less cluttered.

I have premiere and it is really complex for just the minor editing stuff that I would want to do. This Vegas Video...anyone use or would like to share their experiences?
