Hi there
This is a question that should be easy for our XP experts.
My girlfriend, in her enthusiasm for Minesweeper and Spider has dragged their links from the All Programs menu to her desktop, meaning they've disappeared from the menu in both our user accounts.
Anyone got ideas on how to restore them.
Thanks

This may be pretty simple. See if you have System Restore enabled, and use the most recent Restore Point that precedes the disaster.
First off, right click the Start button, and select Explore.
paste this in to the address location at the top:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
and hit enter.
That this sort of thing is what is is incorperated for. If not, we'll try the hard way.
Make Explorer full screen, then look under C:\Documents and Settings for your user accounts and desktop.
ex: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop
Try to find the items from the All Programs menu (folder). If you can see the shortcuts there, on the desktop, then move the folder back to:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu
Notice this is the ALL users path. Get that right, then you can sort out who has what once its more workable.
Its 3: am, so I am not going further with this, just look in to these two approaches, and see what you can get done.

Yes now she can spend time on other things such as baking, cleaning and making love.
Maybe not such a bad thing after all.

Long as she can multitask, like download songs while playing video games or such.. =) Or abitilty to watch paris hilton while doing minesweep.

Well guys thanks for all your help, especially Krell, on form as ever :gj. Above is exactly what I've been looking for, I just couldn't think of it this morning.
As far as my girlfriend goes, at least I didn't make the cock up, this time. The stupid thing is, she generally knows computer as well as me.
Cheers
